MUSCLE SHOALS, AL — Robbins LLC announces the acquisition of Biltrite Industries of Findlay, Ohio, a leading producer of custom rubber compounds.
This facility has been manufacturing rubber products since it was started as Hercules Rubber Company in 1952. Today, this operation is dedicated to the custom rubber compounding industry with customers throughout North America and will become a division of Robbins LLC.

Robbins Executive Vice President Derek Hutchison announces the appointment of Ted Nelson as plant manager. Ted brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, technical expertise and customer focus to the Robbins team,” said Hutchison. Commenting on this transition to Robbins, Nelson adds, “We appreciate our loyal customers who were patient with us during the past six months and are pleased to be a part of Robbins.”

Combined with our Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Tallapoosa, Georgia, facilities, this acquisition gives us over 400-million pounds of mixing capacity, but most importantly, it gives us an essential Ohio footprint.”
With the Findlay site, Robbins has an expanded process offering that includes: intermeshing and tangential style internal mixers, color and black mixing, straining, calendering, slitting, and extrusion. Customers will further benefit from the additional technical staff to aid in compound development, world-class customer service and combined global sourcing.
Robbins LLC is based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The company has been manufacturing rubber products since 1921. Today Robbins supplies manufacturing customers with customized rubber compounds for use in diverse end markets from its facilities in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Tallapoosa, Georgia and now Findlay, Ohio. Also, Robbins is a manufacturer of envelopes, mold cure and precure curing tubes for the worldwide retreading industry.
